The Victor Hugo Laser Centre uses various state-of-the-art technologies in addressing the needs of each patient. It currently uses two femtosecond lasers and two Excimer lasers.

The INTRALASE femtosecond laser from Intralase Corp

It makes it easier to cut a thinner flap (thus saving tissue) that is more reliable (fewer complications), more reproducible and optically neutral (no interference with the treatment for myopia). This laser tool replaces the surgical blade of the microkeratome, a sort of small carpenter’s plane, which can lead to per-operatory problems, such as blockage or poor control of flap thickness, with much greater precision and safety.

The FEMTEC femtosecond laser from 20/10 PerfectVision

Like the Intralase, the Femtec laser makes it easier to cut a thinner flap (thus saving tissue) that is more reliable (fewer complications), more reproducible and optically neutral (no interference with the treatment of myopia).
The advantage of this laser is that the immobilisation ring does not flatten the cornea, as the laser ensures its own alignment through perpendicularity.

The Excimer TECHNOLAS 217z 100 laser from Bausch & Lomb.

This uses a very high-standard system for analysis and inspection of the cornea before and after the procedure, for personalised, rapid and perfectly painless treatment of myopic, hypermetropic and astigmatic patients.

Its real scanning technology allows surgeons to correct myopia from -1 to -10 dioptres, hypermetropia up to +6 dioptres and astigmatism up to 5 dioptres.

The TECHNOLAS 217z 100 has built-in iris recognition, compensation de la cyclotorsion compensation, a laser head twice as fast as the previous generation and a system that offers the surgeon different options for treatment.

Excimer laser photoablation is more accurate with the Zyoptix and Tissue Saving personalised cards. Laser treatment lasts just a few minutes. Thanks to its EyeTracker technology, this system for correcting vision disorders is the safest in the world.

The Excimer EC 5000 laser from Nidek.

Its treatment system combined with a measurement system and analysis and information processing software helps eliminate optical aberrations in myopic, hypermetropic, astigmatic and presbyopic patients.

The Excimer NIDEK EC-5000 is a laser system used in ophthalmology for refractive and therapeutic surgery on the cornea. This system is composed of an Excimer laser that emits in ultraviolet at 193nm. The system is controlled by a computer with regulates the laser beam and gas emissions.

The Centre Victor Hugo Centre’s NIDEK laser is fitted with the Final Fit software for EC-5000 NIDEK upgraded under Windows™.
