Visual defect: Contrary to myopia, the hypermetropic eye is
too short or not powerful enough. It sees better from faraway than
close-up. The image forms in the back of the retina, and the brain
thus receives a blurred image. Young sufferers of hypermetropia can
compensate through accommodation. Procedure:Hypermetropic
Laser-Lasik consists in using a Excimer laser, the
Technolas 217z 100, to carve the cornea on its edge,
after using the Femtec femtosecond laser to cut a
very thin corneal flap. The procedure is done on
one eye after the other. Cutting and myopic treatment
last a total of 15 minutes for both eyes.
Post-operatory: Visual recovery is
almost full within 12 to 24 hours after treatment.
After treatment, the patient is momentarily myopic,
recovering very rapidly close-up vision. Faraway
vision will be recovered more gradually. At 10 days
it starts to become comfortable and becomes optimal
at about one month.
