Femtosecond
laser cutting... |
The
femtosecond laser cuts a thinner flap (thus saving
tissue) that is more reliable (fewer complications),
more reproducible, and optically neutral (no interference
with the treatment for myopia). It replaces the microkeratome,
a sort of small carpenter’s plane, which can
lead to per-operatory problems, such as blockage or
poor control of flap thickness.

The
Zyoptix personalised smartcard... |
The
Zyoptix software combines the data supplied by two
different types of diagnostic equipment: the topograph
(which analyses the cornea’s shape and thickness)
and the abberometer (which searches for aberrations
in the eye). The system gathers data on your cornea’s
structure (topography) and the measurements of your
optic system taken using advanced wave front technology
(abberometry). These data are recorded on a ZYOPTIX
card, which, when introduced into the Technolas 217z
laser, guides the patient’s personalised treatment.

Technolas
laser surgery Iris-recognition... |
Like
fingerprints, each person’s two irises are unique
and can be used to identify that person. Iris-recognition
has numerous advantages:
- The treatment can only proceed if the system recognises
your iris. You can therefore be absolutely certain that
you will get the right treatment for the eye in question.
- Patient identification is rapid and automatic during
treatment and follow-up visits.
- The procedure is more convenient, because the system
calls up your treatment file as soon as it recognises
your iris.
- We are always sure that we have the right treatment
file for the right patient and the right eye.
